Oh! Who... the devil are you?
I had forgotten… But never frightening me,
I just wondered who you could be.
Are you… this dark angel I once knew…?
Again laying a bony hand on my shoulder…
Why such mystery… I don’t look much
older.
Oh, yesss… Life theatre... a play…
I’m wearing this other
mask… Today.
Are you looking for someone new?
I still won’t do perhaps more
stubborn than you…
Why Not? You know it’s often said,
Go find someone else
instead!
Where are the tragedies written on my face?
Oh, yes! There are tales of laughter
and even grace,
That ended with kisses and a sweet embrace.
Some across many a wrinkle
and line,
That worry, suffering and pain truly define.
All indeed there… right here…
But smiles to adore made even more.
When my armour is off you’ll know,
Not just alive, living does indeed show!
Can you see… and just for you,
There is sadness too…
In
my soul… and not all…
For a heart once pulverized… ruby red…
Enough
said...
Long since whole… all tiny bits healed,
Are now safely covered by a
solid shield.
Oh, yes… Needless to tell,
I even know how to die well…
“Why Not”… Simply with you go?
No! Old, but indeed loving life… I don’t
think so.

Oh, well... Keep smiling, my Friend! Two things we know for certain, we arrive and we leave... it's what we do in between that counts...
